Amed Weather in October

October is the last month of Amed's extended dry season advantage. While the south coast sees rising rainfall, Amed continues to benefit from Mount Agung's rain shadow — just 30 mm over 5 days, with rain usually arriving as brief afternoon showers. Daytime temperatures warm back up to 33°C as the southeast monsoon weakens. Humidity is a manageable 72%. Diving at Tulamben remains excellent through most of October, with visibility generally 15–20 metres — still impressive, though slightly more variable than August and September as the first pre-monsoon currents begin. The USAT Liberty wreck's marine life is as rich as ever and the decrease in visitor numbers from the August peak continues. Amed has become refreshingly quiet by October, with a clear local character reasserting itself. The fishing village life is more visible: handmade nets drying on the beach, jukung boats launching before dawn for deep-sea fishing, and women bringing temple offerings to beachside shrines. The volcanic hillsides begin to show the first hints of green as October's light rains begin to regenerate the dry landscape. October is a genuinely great month for independent travellers seeking authentic Amed without the compromise of poor weather.
