Amed Weather in June

June is when Amed moves from excellent to world-class diving territory. Just 20 mm of rain over 2 days, humidity at 68%, and daytime temperatures easing to 32°C with a comfortable 23°C overnight. The southeast trade winds bring a steady cooling breeze off the Lombok Strait that makes even the warmest afternoons pleasant. Underwater visibility at the USAT Liberty wreck in Tulamben reaches 20–25 metres routinely, and the marine life on the 120-metre hull is extraordinary — hundreds of species of fish, sea turtles, black tip reef sharks at the deeper stern section, and the famous school of bumphead parrotfish in the shallows. The Drop-Off dive site nearby offers a vertical wall plunging to 60+ metres draped in sea fans and soft corals. Amed's own reef and the Japanese Shipwreck in the bay are in excellent condition. June still sees relatively manageable visitor numbers before the July–August peak, meaning dive sites are not overcrowded and instructors and guides are relaxed. Cool evenings make dining at beachfront warungs delightful. The Bali Arts Festival begins in Denpasar mid-June, accessible as a day trip for culturally curious visitors based in Amed.
