Lovina Weather in August

August is Lovina's driest month, with only 18 mm of rainfall across barely 2 days. It's also the coolest, with overnight lows of 22°C and daytime highs of 30°C keeping things comfortable even in the midday sun. Humidity at 67% is the lowest of the year. The Bali Sea is at its clearest — snorkeling visibility regularly reaches 20–25 metres and the coral gardens off Lovina shimmer in the brilliant sunlight. Dolphin sightings are at peak frequency; the spinner and bottlenose pods feed extensively in these calm, nutrient-rich waters and morning boat encounters often include 50–100+ animals. Dive operators along the beach are busy, so booking a day ahead is wise. Indonesian Independence Day on 17 August brings colourful village ceremonies, flag-raising rituals, and traditional games like panjat pinang (greasy-pole climbing) in Singaraja and Kalibukbuk. The cool night temperatures make sleeping without air conditioning comfortable — a genuine advantage for budget travellers. Lovina remains one of the few places in Bali where August stays genuinely uncrowded compared to the south; the beach is never packed, and restaurants retain their unhurried local character. This is arguably the very best month to visit Lovina: near-perfect weather, superb water conditions, and a relaxed atmosphere that southern Bali simply cannot offer in August.
