Sanur Weather in May

May is one of Sanur's finest months. Rainfall averages only 80 mm over 7 days, humidity sits at a comfortable 74%, and temperatures of 31°C with a pleasant 24°C overnight make conditions ideal across the day. The reef-protected bay is at its calmest and clearest before the southeast trade winds build in June, making May the best month for snorkeling and paddleboarding in the sheltered waters. Water temperature is a warm 29°C. The Sanur-to-Nusa Lembongan fast boat crossing is smooth and reliable in May; day trips to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida are excellent with clear underwater conditions. Visitor numbers remain at shoulder-season levels — busy enough for a full atmosphere on the beachfront promenade but without the congestion of July and August. May is especially popular with families from Australia and Singapore who prefer to avoid school holiday peak season. The beachfront promenade is lovely at dawn and dusk with local Balinese families cycling, exercising, and enjoying the cooler evening air.
