July is Canggu's undisputed peak month — maximum surf conditions meeting maximum visitor numbers. The weather is textbook: just four rain days, humidity at a very comfortable 70%, reliable offshore southeast winds from 6am until midday grooming the waves at Echo Beach and Batu Bolong into some of the cleanest faces in Bali. Swell heights average 4–8 feet at Echo, though sets can push 10 feet during the biggest swells. The lineups reflect peak season — Echo Beach can have 60–80 surfers in the water during prime morning hours, and Old Man's, while less intense, still fills up. Outside the water, Canggu is at maximum social energy: restaurants along Jalan Batu Bolong require reservations, Atlas and FINNS Beach Club are packed by midday, and even the usually casual Old Man's Wednesday events sell out. Villas require advance booking months ahead for July. The trade-off — absolutely reliable surf and weather — makes this the definitive peak month for surfers who don't mind crowds.
