Canggu Weather in August

August is the driest month in Canggu's annual cycle — just three rain days, humidity at a seasonal low of 69%, and a consistency to the surf that makes planning a session straightforward for the first time all year. The southeast trades blow offshore from dawn until around noon, creating the clean-faced waves that define peak season at Echo Beach and Batu Bolong. The lineup at Echo can be intense — experienced surfers only at the main peak, with intermediate surfers spreading to the secondary peaks that break further north and south. Indonesian Independence Day on August 17 is celebrated with genuine local enthusiasm: community events, red-and-white flags on every villa and warung, and a brief but festive sense that the whole island is on holiday together.
