Visa on Arrival (VOA / e-VOA)
The most common visa for tourists visiting Bali. Available for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days (60 total). Can be purchased online before arrival (e-VOA) or at the airport. Day of arrival and departure each count as full days. After 60 days you must leave Indonesia.

For longer stays in Bali. Initially valid for 60 days and can be extended multiple times up to 180 days total. Requires a sponsor (Indonesian citizen, company, or registered visa agent). Popular with digital nomads and long-term travelers. Cannot be used for employment.

Overstaying your visa in Indonesia incurs a fine of IDR 1,000,000 per day (approximately $65 USD). Substantial overstays may result in detention, deportation, or a ban from re-entering Indonesia. Always track your visa expiry date and apply for extensions well before it expires. Remember: arrival and departure days each count as full days.
